Courses in the Middle School (grades 7 through 8) are thematically integrated across disciplines. The team alternates between the themes of Community and Adaptation. The English, history, and science teachers meet frequently to discuss curriculum and individual students with reference to their academic, social, and emotional development. Student learning is differentiated through varied course offerings and individualized attention within the classroom.

Math
Students are placed into the class that is appropriate for them, regardless of grade level. While Pre-Algebra and Algebra 1 are offered to Middle School students, any student who is ready for higher level math may join the Upper School for a math course. Electives
All Middle School students participate in VAP (vigorous activity period), a Biking / Hiking course which occurs during the first period of each school day.
